A familiar face is stepping into a new leadership role at Aikin Elementary. Many students, parents, and staff have already had the chance to see Amber Hollenshead around campus since the start of the school year, and Paris ISD is excited to officially announce her return as the school’s new Assistant Principal and Math Coach. Mrs. Hollenshead brings more than a decade of experience in elementary education and a deep connection to the Aikin community.
Mrs. Hollenshead began her career in Paris ISD at Aikin as a classroom teacher. Most recently, she served for two years at Justiss Elementary, where she strengthened her leadership skills and supported instructional practices across multiple grade levels. Her time on both campuses has given her a unique perspective for supporting a wide range of learners, diverse teaching styles, and a connected school community.
“I am passionate about fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-achieving school culture,” said Hollenshead. One of her favorite quotes is from George Evans: “Every student can learn, just not on the same day or in the same way.”
Mrs. Hollenshead earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Texas A&M University–Commerce in 2015 and completed her Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in May 2025. Throughout her career, she has served as a classroom teacher, instructional math coach, and mentor to educators, always with a focus on student achievement and teacher support.
Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Hollenshead enjoys spending time with her family and shopping. She and her husband, Samuel, have been married for nearly 12 years and are the proud parents of five children: Cayden (Junior), Myka (Sophomore), Jase (6th grade), Easton (2nd grade), and Rhett (Kindergarten).
Amber Hollenshead is excited to return to Aikin and looks forward to continuing to support Wildcat students, staff, and families in her new leadership role.
